Spring Lake RV Resort & Public Campground Halstead, Kansas
The folks at Spring Lake RV Resort like to say, “Once you’ve visited us, you’ll be back.” Owned by local folks assisted by dedicated host campers and volunteers, the 180-site park on 93 acres at Spring Lake has a lot to offer. It’s a great place to visit and stay seasonally, year around or just overnight. The resort is open to everyone. Annual memberships are available for folks who like to come and go throughout the year and enjoy the park’s amenities.
Nestled amongst fishing ponds, a large creek, trees and trails, the Spring Lake RV Resort is picturesque and inviting. Amenities include a large swimming pool, mini golf course, horseshoe pits, volleyball court, playground, basketball court, laundromat, high speed internet and great activities for families, couples and grandkids. There is ample space for families who like tenting and cabins for non-RVers and extra family members who want to enjoy the outdoor experience. Groups are welcome.
Between April 1st and October 31st, Spring Lake RV Resort provides a full activity schedule, which includes meals on weekends in the large clubhouse, bingo on Friday nights, entertainment on Saturdays and non-denominational church services followed by breakfast on Sundays.
Wayne and Karen Gehring, long-time park members since 1984 and known by many, do a fantastic job as park owners and managers. Co-owners Eric and Mark Vogel and wives Doris and Doris are park contributors. Rounding out the park’s ownership list are Larry and Jan Olson, who also own Pine Haven Retreat in St. John, Kansas (another Passport America park). Larry Olson also happens to be Executive Director of KAN-RVT, Kansas RV Parks & Travel, Inc.
When you stay at Spring Lake RV Resort, you will have plenty to do and see, including the “new kid on the block,” the 650-foot Underground Salt Museum (new, and the only one in the USA). People report they are amazed at this attraction. In Hutchinson, Kansas, (only 18 miles away) is the world-famous Cosmosphere and Space Center, and in Wichita (only 30 minutes away), you’ll find a vast variety of attractions including the Exploration Place (a hands-on science venture). As you can see, Spring Lake RV Resort is a great base from which you can enjoy numerous nearby attractions.
