Michigan Demonstration Shows Effectiveness of Sprinklers in Home

The Phoenix Society was in Comstock Park, Mich., to demonstrate the difference between a home without and one with a sprinkler system. The Phoenix Society is pushing for the state of Michigan to adopt a new housing code that would require all new homes to have a sprinkler system included in the construction.

Sprinklers Help Contain North Carolina 3-alarm Fire

Firefighters say a sprinkler system helped contain a three-alarm fire at a factory near Hickory, N.C. Firefighters say a piece of equipment caught fire, but the building was not damaged. They had the fire under control in about 45 minutes. No one was hurt, and no one was inside the building at the time. More

Sprinkler Prevents Spread of North Carolina Fire

A sprinkler system inside the laundry room of an extended-care facility possibly saved lives and property. New Bern, N.C., Fire Marshal Henry Watson said a commercial dryer in the laundry room was on fire when fire fighters arrived. He said the sprinkler system prevented the fire from spreading through the rest of the building. More
New Jersey Mall Restaurant Fire Extinguished by Sprinkler

A small fire at the Sizzler at the Rockaway Townsquare, N.J., Mall was extinguished by the sprinkler system. The fire was in a storage area in the back of the restaurant. No one was injured.
