from Denton Record-Chronicle- Aug. 5, 2008 A sprinkler head did its job at the Denton Senior Center in Texas and extinguished a fire in a kiln room before it spread to the rest of the city building. Mall’s Sprinkler System Puts out Store Fire from WPBF News- July 31, 2008 A store at the Mall at Wellington Green in Florida caught fire. The fire started in the Forever 21 clothing store in a clothing rack and quickly spread, firefighters said. The fire was put out a short time later thanks to the mall's sprinkler system. More

Iowa Bar is First to Conform to New Sprinkler Law
from Iowa City-Press Aug. 5, 2008 One Iowa City bar owner can now claim he is the first to comply with the city’s new fire sprinkler ordinance.
One Eyed Jake’s owner Mike Porter said the 19-and-up bar located in downtown Iowa City passed its last inspection on its sprinkler and alarm system last week. Porter is now making bolder proclamations about his bar.

Sprinkler System Saves Bromley Plant from Blaze from Hendersonville Times-News- Aug. 5, 2008 Disaster was averted at Bromley Plastics in Fletcher, N.C., when a sprinkler system put out a fire at the plant. Firefighters from the Fletcher Fire Department were dispatched to Bromley on Cane Creek Road where they found the sprinklers had activated and materials were smoldering in a cardboard bin. The cause is still under investigation. The building suffered no damage, thanks to the sprinkler system. More

Sprinkler System Helps to Save Mall Restaurant
from WTKR- Aug. 5, 2008 A fire forced Greenbrier Mall in Chesapeake, Va., to temporarily close the doors to a fast food restaurant. Chesapeake Fire crews say a Chick-Fil-A employee was preparing breakfast in the deep fryer when it caught fire. Mall Security responded with an extinguisher and with the help of the sprinkler system, were able to knock the fire out quickly. More.
