New Hampshire State Board to Discuss Requiring Sprinkler Systems in Homes

State fire officials favor the requirement, saying the sprinklers are effective fire-fighting devices, especially valuable in homes that are far from fire stations.

Sprinklers Contain North Carolina Commercial Fire

The Gastonia Fire Department responded to this commercial business fire at Wood Creations in Gastonia, N.C.
The fire started in a sawdust collections machine and was contained to the area by the activation of four sprinkler heads. There were no injuries reported and all employees evacuated safely. This fire could have been much worse if this business had not been equipped with a properly working sprinkler system. The sprinkler system activated, giving the employees time to escape and contained the fire to area of origin.

Fire Sprinklers Put Out Kitchen Fire in St. Paul, Minn.

An apartment unit on the 1220-block of St. Anthony Avenue sustained little damage Monday night, thanks to its trusty sprinkler system. A single fire sprinkler was all it took for a cooking oil fire in a fourth-floor apartment to be extinguished.
