Professional Development
NOTE: During the recent 2008 fall board meeting, a one year extension on the certification/recertification requirements was passed. This extension was approved to allow additional time for ALOA to launch local computer based testing that will provide easier access for members to certify/recertify. Also, this extension allows additional time for the implementation of the new association software which will enhance the member’s experience. ALOA Proficiency Registration Program (PRP) introduced in 1985, is the international standard for professional certification in the field of physical security. International promotion of ALOA certified professionals provides recognition of their outstanding skills, training, experience and leadership within the industry. ALOA Continuing Education (ACE) is offered nation-wide each year covering all facets of our industry. Scholarship Opportunities are available for ALOA members. A member can apply for educational scholarships to attend conventions, ALOA Continuing Education (ACE) classes or other related industry classes. ALOA’s Volunteer Leadership group is one of the industry’s most involved and successful groups of professionals in the industry. ALOA’s volunteers have been involved in many key decisions which helps the association continue to evolve.
