Bigger Bag Limit Possible For Dove Season from The Tyler Morning Telegraph There is a good possibility that hunters in Texas' South and Central zones could be looking at a 70-day dove season next with a 15-bird daily bag limit. Hunters in the state's North Zone might have a long sought-after winter season. The change, which the Texas Parks and Wildlife commissioners approved for publication in the Texas Register and for public comment, is not the result of biologists finding more mourning doves across the country. Oklahoma Wildlife Commission Approves Bear Hunting Season from The Oklahoman The Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Commission voted 5-2 Wednesday to establish the state’s first black bear hunting season in four southeastern Oklahoma counties. The hunting season is contingent upon state lawmakers passing a bill to create a black bear hunting license.

Amendment to Protect 27 Million Acres for Hunting from Beaver County Times President Barack Obama signed off Monday on a massive land conservation bill that protects millions of acres of wilderness, but an amendment by U.S. Rep. Jason Altmire, D-4, McCandless Township, also provides some protection for sportsmen. Altmire’s amendment prevents any new restrictions from being placed on hunting, fishing or trapping on 27 million acres in the West that will be overseen by the newly created National Landscape Conservation System.
