TPWD to Launch ‘Hunt Texas Online Connection’ This Week from The Brownsville Herald
According to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, hunting in Texas has burgeoned into an economic behemoth generating $4.63 billion annually in the state. TPWD recently made finding a hunting lease in Texas easier for hunters with a new online database, Hunt Texas Online Connection. The database will be officially launched on May 15, but database is currently operational. More
Oklahoma Senate Gives Final Approval to Right to Hunt Ballot Measure from NRA-ILA Last week, the Oklahoma Senate passed Senate Joint Resolution 38, a measure authored by State Senator Glenn Coffee (R-30) and State Representative Randy Terril (R-53), by a vote of 46 to 0. Now Oklahoma voters will be asked to approve a State Constitutional amendment to protect the Right to Hunt, Fish and Harvest Game, in this November’s General Election. If passed by the voters this fall, Oklahomans will have established the nation's most comprehensive and meaningful constitutional protections for hunters and sportsmen. More

PETA's Pet Death Toll Grows Again from The Center for Consumer Freedom Recently, Newsweek explored the bizarre irony -- or hypocrisy, if you see things the way we do -- of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) as a wholesale executioner of dogs, cats, and other "companion animals." The story was originally titled "PETA Kills Pets," but later quietly re-titled to a milder "PETA and Euthanasia." Utah Increases Antlerless Big Game Permits from BigGameHunt.net More permits will be available in Utah this year to hunt big game animals that don't have antlers. At their May 8 meeting in Salt Lake City, members of the Utah Wildlife Board increased the number of cow elk, cow moose and doe pronghorn antelope permits available for this fall's hunts. More
