Bristol Bay Fundraising Auction
from the Sportsman's Alliance for Alaska
The Sportsman’s Alliance for Alaska is running a new online auction campaign to protect one of the world’s greatest fishing and hunting destinations – Alaska’s famed Bristol Bay. Each eBay auction listing will run for 10 days, and all opening bids will be set at under 70 percent of retail. New items will be posted three times per week through mid-June. DSC has been active in the effort to protect Bristol Bay. TPWD Funds Programs to Get Kids Outdoors

Reconnecting children and families with the outdoors seems to be the general theme of programs funded by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s Community Outdoor Outreach Program grant. TPWD this month announced recipients of 17 grants totaling $470,000, as well as additional funding that will allow an additional grants round this summer. More

Sportsmen Hail Inclusion of Open Fields in Farm Bill

The Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnership strongly applauded today's announcement that Open Fields, a TRCP signature issue since the organization's inception, has been included in the final Farm Bill compromise just released by Congress. Open Fields is designed to support voluntary, state-run programs that provide incentives to private landowners who allow public hunting and fishing access on their land. More
