Gun Ruling to Spark Legal Battles Nationwide
from MSNBC
The Supreme Court’s ruling that Americans have a right to own guns for self-defense and hunting was the opening shot in what will be a long legal and legislative battle over exactly how strictly cities and states can regulate firearms, advocates and elected officials said last week. The court’s 5-4 ruling, its first ever addressing the core ambiguity of the Second Amendment, upheld an appeals court ruling that struck down the District of Columbia’s 32-year-old ban on handguns. The bear-hunting season would coincide with deer hunting season. More

Canadians Argue for Polar Bear Hunt
from The Associated Press
Officials from northern Canada were in Washington last week to make an unpopular argument: Let U.S. hunters continue to kill polar bears for sport. Top 10 Hunting Rifles
from American Hunter
Perhaps it’s the adventure accompanying a hunt that leads us to dream about one gun that can do it all, or at least one that would satisfy us forever. Perhaps it’s a keen sense of our own history that leads us to pick a favorite and declare, “The Model Such-and-Such is the best rifle of all time.” The words are spoken with authority, as if there can be no debate. But of course there is always debate. Which is a good thing, for without debate life would be dull indeed. More
