New Mexico Adopts Electrical Code

The state of New Mexico recently adopted the 2008 National Electrical Code and the Construction Industries Commission approved inclusion of a new child safety precaution. The requirement, NEC Section 406.11, states that all 125-volt 15- and 20-ampere electrical outlets in new residential construction must be tamper-resistant receptacles. Code enforcement is planned to begin July 1. More
