One of the first commercial waste heat generators has been installed at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. The generator–dubbed Green Machine–can produce up to 50 kW of electrical energy, recycled from industrial waste heat. The machine should be able to produce cheap electricity for the university in three to four years. More

94 Percent of Americans Say Solar Energy Development is Important

Wait Time for Building Permits in Ocala, Fla., is Long Due to Staff Cuts

The bare bones staffing at the county's Building Department has stretched the wait for permits and the patience of some contractors. The department now has 31 employees after eliminating some 60 jobs since last June in response to plummeting revenue from the residential housing slow down. Same-day permitting and plans review have now turned into five to 10 day waits for permits that don't require plans review, and eight to 20 days for those that do. More
