Europe Looks to Africa for Solar Power

The European project known as Desertec is nothing if not ambitious. It aims to harvest the sun’s energy — using a method known as concentrating solar power, or C.S.P. — from the vast North African desert and deliver it as electricity, via high-voltage transmission lines, to markets in Europe. Storm Lake, Iowa, officials faced lost revenue last week during a key period in the travel season as both King's Pointe indoor and outdoor waterparks were idle for a week. Self-sufficient Commercial Facility Operates on Fuel Cells

Believe it or not, fuel cell technology was first introduced in the 1800s, but modern technology has made these systems more reliable. Therefore, it is plausible, as more information concerning these units becomes available, more of these systems will be used to provide power to small facilities that require only small amounts of electricity. ISA Updates Standard on Electrical Equipment
