Denver Updates Building Code from DenverGov.org The City and County of Denver has adopted the 2006 Series of Building Codes established by the International Code Council, and 2005 National Electrical Code. Builders have the option of using the new or old code during a transition period. The new Code is available for use now. Or, builders may use either the 2004 Denver Building Code or the new 2008 Denver Building Code for any projects that will be submitted to Denver Community Planning and Development before the effective date of this Code- Aug. 4, 2008. The newly adopted Denver Building Code shall become fully effective on Aug.4, 2008. More
