Honors for Wyoming Wrestling Keep Coming

The University of Wyoming Cowboy wrestling program continues to find its way into the headlines with a recent recruiting class ranking and additional postseason awards for last year's team. Following a successful 2008-09 season, three Cowboy redshirt freshmen and UW's rookie head coach have been recognized by Amateur Wrestling News. Joe LeBlanc was named to the publication's All-Rookie First Team, while both Michael Martinez and Shane Onufer were All-Rookie Fourth Team honorees. Four New Inductees into Wrestling Hall of Fame

Two Olympic medal winners will join a pair of two-time NCAA champions in this year's class of inductees into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame. Stanford Wrestling Ranks Among Nation's Best Academic Programs

The Stanford wrestling team was listed among the nation's best academic programs when the National Wrestling Coaches Association announced its annual Division I All-Academic Top 30 and individual all-academic wrestling teams for the 2008-09 season. NC State’s Caldwell Earns Berth on USA World Team

Rising senior Darrion Caldwell, the defending NCAA champion at 149 pounds, earned a spot on the U.S. World National team with a third-place finish in the 66 kg/145.5 pound weight class at the U.S. World Team Trials, held in Council Bluffs, Iowa, this past weekend. Bono Resigns UTC Wrestling Post to Return to Iowa State

UT-Chattanooga wrestling head coach Chris Bono has resigned and has accepted an assistant coaching position at his alma mater, Iowa State. Greco-Roman Wrestler Rial Finds New Motivation

Greco-Roman wrestling got to be a drag for Mark Rial, especially after a sub par showing at the 2008 Olympic Trials.
