Gangs Take Advantage of New Technology to Commit Crime

Gang members are increasingly using the Internet, cell phones and other technology to intimidate foes, take credit for crimes and recruit members. "They used to use graffiti, but now they do it in text messages and on MySpace," said Spokane County sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Kittilstved, a member of the Spokane Gang Enforcement Team. Victims of Violence Partner with Law Enforcement

Frederick County's top prosecutor is turning to a previously untapped resource in his efforts to put dangerous criminals behind bars. He has begun using the federal U Visa program, which helps unauthorized immigrants who are victims of domestic violence and other crimes, such as rape, torture and involuntary servitude. In exchange for a maximum of four years to live and work legally in the U.S., program participants help government and law enforcement authorities investigate and prosecute crimes. More

Driver Training Course a Safe Bet for Community

He wants to build a state-of-the-art outdoor training course to provide law enforcement officers and first responders in the area with a place to practice the skills necessary to provide top-quality service to the community and to keep themselves safe while doing so. Lawmakers Study Immigration Crackdown
