NYSH&TA is Carefully Monitoring Swine Flu Outbreak
from NYSH&TA
Your Association is tracking the swine flu issue very closely. NYSH&TA President Daniel C. Murphy has been in direct contact with the New York State Department of Health to see if there is anything specific the lodging community needs to do at this time. Currently, they recommend employees wash hands frequently, especially after using the bathroom, touching handrails, before and after eating and drinking, before handling food and after handling garbage or trash. NYSH&TA also recommends members review the Centers for Disease Control's (CDC) Website for the most comprehensive and frequently updated swine flu news and recommended actions.

Below are some links to industry-specific information provided to NYSH&TA by the American Hotel & Lodging Association:

Kudos to hotel and tourism industry leadership for its aggressive lobbying efforts at the White House and on Capitol Hill -- along with a timely and smart advertising, public relations, war room response and letter-writing campaign -- in the wake of the AIG fallout and the fact that our industry was not included in the U.S. Government’s $780 Billion stimulus package.
