That doesn’t mean U.S. drivers are out of the woods yet. The big fear was that Ike’s storm surges would lead to serious flooding damage to area refineries that provide about a quarter of U.S. gasoline supplies. Recall of RV Fridges Expanded to 1.6 million from Ottawa Citizen A Swedish refrigerator manufacturer is expanding the recall of motorhome fridges bringing the total number of units involved to more than 1.6 million across North America, making it one of the largest safety recalls ever. Dometic Corp., which specializes in recreational vehicle accessories among other things, says that 10 of its fridge models can develop a fatigue crack in the boiler tube, which would allow pressurized coolant to escape and possibly catch fire. Private Campgrounds and RV Resorts in Texas Cater to Ike Evacuees from the Dallas Business Journal Hurricane Ike evacuees may find comfort in the fact that some private campgrounds and RV resorts are offering discounted rates to Hurricane Ike evacuees, the Texas Association of Campground Owners last week. The association says some of the discounts could run upward of 50 percent off on RV sites and cabin rentals. There are 400 private campgrounds located in the state of Texas. More
