Eco-Friendly Energy to Power Revamped Star Market in Boston from Boston Globe
A revamped Star Market, located in the Chestnut Hill suburb of Boston, will serve as a test lab for the latest supermarket chain hoping to make its business practices more efficient and environmentally conscious. The store, scheduled to open next year, will be powered with an energy-saving fuel cell that runs on natural gas, use an innovative refrigeration system that reduces carbon emissions, and be illuminated with light-emitting diodes that last about 10 years. JohnsonDiversey Says Its New Floor-Finishing Tool Saves Water from Greener Buildings Commercial cleaning products giant JohnsonDiversey says its ProSpeed floor-finishing tool has helped customers save an estimated 71,400 gallons of water since its launch in the North American market in June. The company calculated the savings based on sales of 31,276 gallons of floor finish for the tool, which JohnsonDiversey calls a floor-finishing system, in the 10 weeks since the product was launched.
