Effectiveness of Mesotherapy on Body Contouring

Mesotherapy is a method of delivery of pharmacologic agents into the mesoderm, the layers under the skin. The technique has been advocated by some as an alternative for liposuction in body contouring procedures. The drugs frequently used for injections are phosphatidylcholine, isoproterenol, aminophylline, caffeine, L-carnitine, buflomedil, and calcitonin, among others. Despite anecdotal reports confirming effectiveness, there have been no peer-reviewed clinical trials that show proven efficacy of localized injections for body contouring. More

Melanoma may be more common in whites, but a study suggests that skin cancer is deadlier in blacks and Hispanics because of late diagnosis. According to a study by the University of Miami, blacks are more than three times as likely as whites to be diagnosed with melanoma after it has reached a late stage. Hispanics are nearly twice as likely as whites to be diagnosed in the late stage. More
