Based on research sponsored by the APC, the report explains how to acquire, understand, and use real-time digitally generated data for new value creation opportunities through digital data stream generation and aggregation as well as services, efficiency, and analytics. Authors Gabe Piccoli and Federico Pigni also explore why a firm needs capabilities in datasets, toolsets, skillsets and mindsets to exploit a digital data stream strategy. They end with recommendations for developing the needed skills, examining current opportunities, creating digital data streams when opportunities arise and being alert to the digital data streams you already have.
