And so has one of the area's other top teams: Colleyville Heritage. "Once you get these playoffs started," Grapevine coach Tim McCune said, "you never know what's going to happen." That certainly seems to be true in baseball. It might be the only way to explain how area schools, which have dominated the state in several sports, haven't hoisted many UIL baseball trophies since 2002.

Three Schools in Running for Lone Star Cup
from Abilene Reporter-News Three Big Country high schools are coasting into upcoming state UIL competitions with their names on the short list for the Lone Star Cup award, but none has a strong chance at winning. Wylie, Albany and Roscoe high schools have accumulated enough points in academic and athletic competitions with the University Interscholastic League throughout this school year that they were listed in the April update of Lone Star Cup award contenders.
