Waltrip Becoming Mainstay in Baseball Playoffs from Houston Chronicle
Nestled on the corner of Ella Boulevard and West 34th Street is Waltrip High School, home to Houston ISD’s most consistent Class 4A baseball program of this decade. The Rams have won six consecutive district championships and nine of the last 10.
Despite their in-district success, the Rams’ presence in the playoffs has faded by late May in the last few years. But not this year.

Goodwin, a Texas signee, won the 200 meters his fourth event of the day and headed straight for the training table near the finish line at Baylor's Hart-Patterson Track & Field Complex.

Hitting the Weight Room Not Just For Football Jocks Anymore from Fredericksburg Standard For a long time, strength and conditioning for many Fredericksburg High School athletes was just something to get through, run by seasoned football coaches to help prepare young men for the physical wear and tear of gridiron play. Led by Fredericksburg High School director of strength and conditioning Jerold Gaitan, the program has seen a massive overhaul in the last two years, including the emergence of an annual fundraiser competition.

McNeil Friends, Rivals Get Their Shots at State from Austin American-Statesman The McNeil Mavericks have their fair share of rivalries. For one, McNeil is a member of a competitive district in which all eight 16-5A schools have won at least one district championship in a sport during the 2008-09 school year.
