Postseason baseball success is nothing new to Brazoswood. While Bellaire, the team the Buccaneers just knocked off in the Class 5A Region III semifinals, is known as the premier program in Greater Houston , the Buccaneers have a rich winning tradition of their own. Think Fast: Athletes Face Choice of Graduation or State Meet
from Dallas Morning News HS Game Time The state track meet has been a grand stage for DeSoto's Skylar White, who won Class 5A titles in the shot put and discus the last two years. But instead of attempting a three-peat Saturday, the senior has chosen a different stage. She'll be at the Dallas Convention Center, receiving her diploma with the DeSoto Class of 2009. Fort Worth Arlington Heights’ Star System Gives Way to Team of Interchangeable Parts
from Fort Worth Star-Telegram Fort Worth Arlington Heights is right to think every season it has a chance to go a long way in the baseball playoffs. The Yellow Jackets won a state title in 1996, went back to Austin in 2006 and are rarely finished before the swimming pools open. But usually, the Yellow Jackets get it done behind a big bat or an ace arm. Not this season. John Biggs made a splash with a five-homer game in the regular season, and David Shipman leads the team in victories.
