Rackley Elected to Lead Next THSCA

Converse Judson head coach Jim Rackley was voted as the next president-elect of the Texas High School Coaches Association. He will occupy the spot of current president-elect Sam Harrell (Ennis), who will take over as THSCA president next year for Bob Gillis (El Campo). Granbury Coach Andrews Selected for Women's Basketball Hall of Fame

Leta Andrews of Granbury, the nation’s all-time winningest high school girls basketball coach, has been selected for induction into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame. Andrews, who has 1,313 career victories in 47 seasons and has coached the Lady Pirates for the last 17 seasons, was among the Class of 2010 announced at the WNBA All-Star Game in Uncasville, Conn. UIL May Let Football Coaches Run 7-on-7, Select Sports Teams

The time could be approaching for high school coaches to decide just how much time they want to spend with their athletes. Mayo has rebounded. He’s headed about a hundred miles up the road to Nocona, a town whose total population (3,198) is considerably smaller than Skyline’s student enrollment of 4,572 last year. Nederland Boys Soccer Coach Bledsoe Steps Down

Nederland boys soccer coach Rob Bledsoe said he resigned to take an assistant football and soccer coach position at San Antonio Churchill. Bledsoe, 36, won 115 games over seven seasons at Nederland. He guided the team to an undefeated District 38-4A record last season. Nederland won the district and was eliminated in the area round of the Class 4A tournament. More    E-mail article

Grapevine Tennis Coach 'Is a True Mentor to Every Player'
