To the Antonian volleyball team, it's one thing to be called an underdog. It's another thing to be treated like
one.
Kicked out of the home locker room because they weren't the designated home team, the Apaches found motivation—and redemption—in the slight.
As far as Antonian is concerned, Dallas Bishop Lynch can have the designated home-team dressing room.
The Apaches have something far more precious—the TAPPS 5A state championship.

Mesquite was stopped at the 1 as time ran out Friday night, ending their season and putting Mesquite Horn into the postseason.
Emory Miller accounted for 359 yards and three touchdowns as Horn held on for a 29-24 victory over Mesquite at Hanby Stadium.

3A Lorena inching toward former success in 2A

The Leopards can still roar.
It's been more than 20 years since the Lorena
football program reached the pinnacle of Class 2A by defeating Refugio, 8-7, in the 1987 state championship game. Two years later, Lorena made it back to the title game before losing to Groveton.
Since the Leopards joined 3A, though, district championships and playoff wins have been sparse.
Well, that trend is changing.
