	<title>Smithson Valley Coach Daigle's Retirement Accepted </title>
	<description>Comal Independent School District accepted the retirement of Smithson Valley softball coach Wayne Daigle in a school board meeting. Daigle, 63, led the Rangers to the Class 5A state championship earlier this month. The Express-News Area Coach of the Year, Daigle had a 347-75 record in his 13 years at Smithson Valley, including another state championship in Class 4A in 2001.</description>

In 2007, the Lady Hornets reached the playoffs for the first time. In 2008, they won a playoff game for the first time.
