FBI Reports 49 Percent Increase in Firearm Background Checks in One Week

PETA bases this idiocy on the recent, tragic incident in which an 8-year-old Arizona boy allegedly killed his father and another man. Since the father had taught the boy to hunt and shoot, PETA claims that the deaths are "further proof of the well-established link between cruelty to animals and violence directed against our fellow human beings." Anti-hunting Group Calling for Ammunition Ban

The Humane Society of the United States is calling for a ban on all forms of lead shot and bullets. The reason: North Dakotans who eat game killed with lead have higher levels of lead in their blood. The average Texas deer hunter spent $141 per hunting day or about $1,500 in the 2006 season, according to a report compiled for the Texas Department of Parks & Wildlife in 2007 by Southwick Associates.
