What is an Online Supplier Directory?

An Online Supplier Directory is a Web-based resource dedicated to providing an accurate and complete collection of suppliers of goods and services which are continually purchased by association members. It provides a convenient marketplace for expert buyers to quickly find qualified vendors that meet their unique needs, without the “clutter” of general purpose search engines.

Features of an Online Supplier Directory

The Online Supplier Directory home page provides an association member with two search methods to find desired businesses or services.

  1. The Multiview search engine allows association members to conduct detailed searches for individual products, parts and/or services contained within the Web sites of the companies listed in the directory. This methodology, unlike general-purpose search engines like Google™ and Yahoo!™, provides more relevant results since the Web sites contained in the search results have been pre-qualified. This means organizations are pre-screened as providing meaningful goods and services to association members.

  2. Second, association members can utilize the Browse by Category feature to identify suppliers in pre-defined, industry-relevant categories.

    Clicking on a single company in the result set yields a complete profile of the company, including a prominent company logo and contact information. Additionally, Web links are provided, allowing the association member to quickly jump to that company’s Web site for further research and/or purchase. E-mail links are also available for quick correspondence with the company.
