Challenges Facing the Automotive Aftermarket

Manufacturers of aftermarket automotive parts face numerous communication challenges in today's business environment. These include:

  • Timely delivery of parts catalogs to distributors and end users
  • Creating and distributing catalog updates with new parts information
  • Maximizing sales force effectiveness with complete, timely parts information
  • Monitoring parts catalog delivery and usage
  • Maintaining high visibility/awareness with the client

MultiView Solutions for the Automotive Aftermarket

The best way to deliver and maintain accurate parts information is to deliver it electronically. MultiView offers two proven methods of giving clients the information they need when they need it. Each of these solutions is available as a stand-alone application or a turn-key solution integrating the two applications. For ease of use, both of these solutions maintain the same navigation, look and feel.

1. Synchronized Web Electronic Catalog

Unique catalogs like these are made possible through the use of MultiView's proprietary technology. An entire automotive parts catalog is installed on a user's PC and is therefore available for use without Internet connectivity. Upon installation, a customized icon is placed on the user's desktop...offering high visibility to the manufacturer's catalog. When the Internet is available, the user simply initiates an update and the latest parts information is immediately downloaded and installed on the user's PC. All the standard features and custom features available on the Web-based parts catalogs can be made available on the portable electronic catalogs.

2. Web-based Parts Catalogs

These catalogs are created from a manufacturer's parts data (in AAIA format) and are made available through an easy to use website. Anyone in the world with a web browser and Internet connectivity has access to the latest parts information provided by the manufacturer. MultiView provides a rich set of standard features including intuitive searchability, managing images (photos and line drawings), multiple parts/kits results for a single search and extensive drill-down capabilities for detailed parts information. Custom features can be added to meet the unique needs of certain manufacturers; such as client-dependent pricing levels, login security to restrict access to client-specific information, E-commerce connectivity to inventory systems for direct purchase of products via the website.

Summary of Benefits

MultiView's two electronic solutions effectively address the communication challenges facing the automotive aftermarket industry. Timely delivery of parts information is accomplished though powerful Web-based parts catalogs and portable electronic catalogs. Portable electronic catalogs maximize the efforts of a salesforce by easily keeping it always up-to-date with the latest parts information. Client awareness is enhanced through a custom icon placed on the user's PC desktop.
