Executive Editor

BIOGRAPHY

I joined Multiview in 2012 after decades as a newspaper editor. I’m an Executive Editor and handle production of our sports and recreation news briefs, municipal and law enforcement news briefs as well as a few other industries.

I graduated from the University of Detroit and moved to Arkansas the day after graduation, starting my career as a crime and courts reporter at a daily newspaper where I eventually met my wife. I’ve worked at three newspapers in Michigan, two in Texas and two in Arkansas. I’m glad that I have the opportunity to apply those communication skills in a field as diverse as marketing and at a unique company like Multiview.

My philosophy is that some people are born with more talent, or more intelligence, or more money, but we all start at zero when it comes to hard work. I’ve also instilled in my children that it doesn’t cost a dime to be nice to someone.

At Multiview, I try to set an example by taking on any type of task, right down to interoffice activities.

My wife, Amanda, and I like to spend time with our three sons and their wives: Pete and Angela; Alex and Crystal; and Joe and Jaydyn, and our three puppies.

We’re all heavily devoted to volunteerism. Amanda founded The World’s Only St. Paddy’s Pickle Parade and Palooza in our hometown of Mansfield, Texas. It’s a free volunteer-run festival that has become one of North Texas’ most popular. I also serve on the board of directors for the Mansfield Parks Foundation Development Corp. and the Arlington Independence Day Association, which produces Texas’ largest Independence Day parade. Our family also volunteers with Mansfield Cares, a local charity organization and with the annual Juneteenth celebration in Mansfield.

I’m a fan of practically any type of sports, and I play softball, sand volleyball and ice hockey regularly, frequently alongside our grown children.

Time spent in a park is healthy for our bodies, and can benefit our mental state too. But parks also can help keep our planet healthy.

Quiet leadership: How to lead without the fanfare

Some leaders shine, some leaders shout and some leaders set an example. They're all visible. There are ways to lead without being demonstrative, and those leaders are noticed no matter how quietly they perform.

A sound plan gives strength to New Year’s resolutions

If you're starting the new year on the right foot by making resolutions, be careful what you wish for. The resolution might be a challenge with a bigger cost than anticipated.
