What Physician Associates Are Engaging With in Association Media

Healthcare professionals are inundated with information. Between research updates, industry news, clinical guidance, and patient concerns, understanding which topics are capturing attention can be difficult. That's where association media offers a unique lens.
Through the Physician Associate-focused publications we manage and support, Multiview has visibility into how these healthcare professionals engage with content in trusted industry environments. By analyzing engagement patterns across this content, we identified several themes that consistently captured audience attention.
While these topics don't represent every priority or concern within the profession, they provide directional insight into the conversations gaining visibility among PAs today.
How we identified these trends
This analysis is based on engagement patterns observed within Medical Watch, the official newsletter of the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA), which serves an audience of more than 74,000 members.
To identify emerging themes, Multiview reviewed engagement data across healthcare content published throughout the year and used AI-assisted analysis to evaluate recurring topics that consistently generated audience interest. This approach enabled us to identify common themes across high-performing content and surface broader patterns in audience engagement. The resulting trends reflect topics that gained visibility within a trusted professional media environment.
Because Medical Watch content is shaped by editorial standards, trusted healthcare sources, and association-specific guidelines, these findings should be viewed as indicators of topics gaining traction within AAPA association media rather than a comprehensive measure of all Physician Associate priorities.
Topic #1: Alcohol consumption & cancer risk
Alcohol is increasingly being discussed as a modifiable cancer risk factor, reflecting a growing body of research linking even moderate consumption to elevated cancer risk. At the same time, broader cultural conversations around reduced drinking, wellness, and longevity have increased visibility around the topic.
What it may signal:
Growing interest in lifestyle-linked health risks and the long-term impact of everyday behaviors on patient outcomes.
Topic #2: Rising cancer rates in young adults
Rising cancer rates among younger adults continue to draw attention as researchers investigate potential drivers ranging from environmental exposures to lifestyle factors and delayed diagnoses. The trend is reshaping conversations around age, risk awareness, and earlier detection.
What it may signal:
Increased focus on long-term health outcomes, earlier risk identification, and understanding how risk factors may be evolving across generations.
Topic #3: Social media & ADHD
Conversations around ADHD and social media use continue to gain visibility as researchers examine how digital platforms may influence attention, cognition, sleep, and mental health. Increased awareness around ADHD symptoms and online health content has further amplified the discussion.
What it may signal:
Growing overlap between behavioral health, digital habits, and healthcare conversations, particularly as online platforms shape how people understand and discuss health concerns.
What these signals may reflect
While the topics themselves vary, several broader themes emerge across the engagement data.
Many of the highest-interest conversations center on long-term health outcomes, lifestyle and environmental risk factors, behavioral health, and the growing intersection between public discourse and clinical relevance.
For marketers, these insights offer a glimpse into the broader environment Physician Associates are operating in. Understanding the conversations capturing attention within professional media can provide valuable context for audience research, messaging development, and industry engagement.
The value isn't simply knowing which topics are being discussed. It's understanding which conversations are gaining traction among highly engaged professional audiences and why those conversations may matter within the healthcare landscape.
